AAI Assistant Recruitment 2024: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is a Government of India Public Sector Enterprise that was established by an Act of Parliament. Its primary responsibility is to develop, upgrade, maintain, and manage civil aviation infrastructure in both the ground and air space of the country. AAI has been honored with the Mini Ratna Category-1 status.

Candidates belonging to UR, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) (Including GST). However, women, SC, ST, ex-servicemen candidates, persons with benchmark disabilities, and apprentices who have successfully completed one year of apprenticeship training in AAI, as per the Apprentices Act 1961, are exempted from paying the application fee.

AAI Assistant Notification 2024 Post Qualification, Eligibility

1. JUNIOR ASSISTANT (FIRE SERVICE)

  • A regular diploma in Mechanical/Automobile/Fire with 3 years of approved study after completing 10th grade, or 
  • Successful completion of 12th grade through regular study.
  • A valid license for driving heavy vehicles is required. 
  • A valid license for driving medium vehicles, issued at least one year before the date of the advertisement (i.e., 20/12/2023), is necessary. 
  • A valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) license, issued at least two years before the date of the advertisement (i.e., 20/12/2023), is required. 
For candidates with a medium vehicle or light motor vehicle license (as mentioned in b and c above), it is mandatory to obtain a Heavy Duty Driving License within one year of their appointment, before completing their probation period. If they fail to acquire the Heavy Duty Driving License within this timeframe, their probation period will be extended for an additional year until they obtain the required license. During this extended probation period, they will not be confirmed in their position and their increments will be withheld. It is important to note that no further extension beyond two years will be granted, and their services will be terminated. 
Please note that temporary or learning licenses will not be accepted.

3. SENIOR ASSISTANT (ELECTRONICS)

  • Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunication, and Radio Engineering.
  • One must possess two years of pertinent experience* in the respective field, specifically in Electronics, Telecommunication, or Radio Engineering.

4. SENIOR ASSISTANT (ACCOUNTS)

  • It is preferable for graduates to have a B.Com. degree.
  • The candidate should possess a minimum of two (2) years of practical experience in the domain of Financial Statements preparation, direct and indirect taxation, audit, and other Finance & Accounts related areas.

AAI Assistant Vacancies 2024 Age Limit

  • The age requirement for candidates is between 18 and 30 years as of 20/12/2023. However, there are certain relaxations in the upper age limit based on different categories. 
  • For candidates belonging to the OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category, there is a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit as of 20/12/2023. 
  • Similarly, candidates belonging to the SC/ST category have a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit as of 20/12/2023. 
  • It is important to note that age, qualification, experience, etc. will be considered as of 20/12/2023. 
  • For Ex-servicemen, the length of service will be extended by 3 years. The age relaxation for Ex-servicemen is applicable as prescribed by the Government of India order issued from time to time. Ex-servicemen candidates should indicate the category to which they belong - SC/ST/OBC/UR/EWS. 
  • Candidates who are in regular service of AIRPORTS AUTHORITY OF INDIA have an additional relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit. SC/ST candidates have an additional relaxation of 5 years, and OBC candidates have an additional relaxation of 3 years. 
  • Widows, divorced women, and women judicially separated from their husbands, who are not remarried, have a maximum age limit of 35 years (40 years for SC/ST members), subject to the production of relevant documents such as the Death Certificate of the husband and an affidavit stating that the candidate has not remarried. For legally divorced women, a certified copy of the Court Order conveying divorce or judicial separation and an affidavit stating that the candidate has not remarried are required. 
  • PwBD candidates have a relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit. This means that SC/ST category candidates would have a maximum age relaxation of 15 years, including the 5 years meant for their respective categories. Similarly, OBC (NCL) category candidates would have a maximum age relaxation of 13 years, including the 3 years meant for the OBC category. 
  • The relaxation of the age limit for PwBD candidates is applicable only if they have a minimum of 40% disability, supported by a certificate of disability in the prescribed format issued by a board duly constituted by the Central/State Government.

Selection Process for AAI Assistant Job 2024

1. JUNIOR ASSISTANT (FIRE SERVICE)

Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT) - Duration: Two (2) hours. 
The minimum passing marks for UR/EWS/OBC candidates will be 50 out of 100, while for SC/ST candidates it will be 40 out of 100.

Syllabus:
  • Part A - 50% of the questions will be based on Basic Mathematics, Basic Science, and Elementary English/Grammar at the 10th Std. level.
  • Part B - The remaining 50% of the questions will cover General Knowledge, General Intelligence, General Aptitude, and English at the 12th Std. level.
Stage 2: After successfully passing the online Computer Based Test (CBT), shortlisted candidates will undergo Certificates/Documents verification, followed by a Medical Examination (Physical Measurement Test). Candidates who clear the medical examination will be eligible for the driving test (in Light Motor Vehicle) provided they possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle/Medium Motor Vehicle/Heavy Motor Vehicle license in its original form. Only upon passing the driving test, candidates will be allowed to proceed to the Physical Endurance Tests (PET).

Physical Endurance Tests (PET) involve a variety of tests.

  1. The 100-meter running event is one of the tests included in the assessment. 
  2. Another test that is part of the evaluation is rope climbing. 
  3. Participants will also be evaluated on their ability to climb a pole. 
  4. In addition to the above tests, there is a 60-meter running event where participants carry a human dummy. 
  5. Lastly, the assessment includes a full ladder climbing test. 
  6. Each of these tests carries a maximum of 20 marks.

2. JUNIOR ASSISTANT (OFFICE)  

  • The written exam, also known as the Computer Based Test (CBT), carries a total of 100 marks and has a duration of two hours.
  • Following the CBT, candidates who qualify will be required to take a Computer Literacy Test in MS Office. The appointment will be based on the merit of the CBT, provided the candidate qualifies the Computer Literacy Test.

The syllabus for the written exam (CBT Exam) is as follows:

  • 50% of the questions will be related to the educational qualifications prescribed for the post.
  • The remaining 50% will cover topics such as General Knowledge, General Intelligence, General Aptitude, and English.
  • For PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates, the minimum pass marks will be 40 out of 100.

3. SENIOR  ASSISTANT (ELECTRONICS)

The Written Exam (Computer Based Test-CBT) is worth 100 marks and has a duration of two (2) hours. The syllabus consists of 70% questions related to the educational qualifications required for the post, and 30% questions on General Knowledge, General Intelligence, General Aptitude, and English, among others. In order to pass, UR/EWS/OBC candidates must score a minimum of 50 out of 100, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates must score a minimum of 40 out of 100. The appointment is based on the CBT Merit list and is subject to successful completion of the 12-week Ab-Initio Training and 4-week On the Job Training. During the training period, candidates are entitled to a stipend of Rs. 25,000/- per month and are required to execute a bond with AAI before commencing the training.

4. SENIOR  ASSISTANT (ACCOUNTS)

  • The written exam, also known as the Computer Based Test (CBT), carries a total of 100 marks and has a duration of two hours. After qualifying in the CBT, candidates will need to appear for the Computer Literacy Test in MS Office. The appointment will be based on the merit of the CBT, provided the candidate qualifies the Computer Literacy Test. 
  • The syllabus for the exam consists of 70% questions related to the educational qualifications required for the post, and 30% questions on General Knowledge, General Intelligence, General Aptitude, and English, among others. 
  • To pass the exam, UR/EWS/OBC candidates need to score a minimum of 50 out of 100 marks, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates need to score a minimum of 40 out of 100 marks.
